Position: Farmers Market Support Program Regional Coordinator
Time: Part-Time (10hrs/week)

CFA is seeking qualified candidates to fill two (2) Regional Technical Assistance Coordinator roles as part of the 2017 Farmers’ Market Support Program (FMSP).
Each Technical Assistance Coordinator will communicate with, collaborate, assist, and empower KY farmers’ in a specific region (regions will be determined according to best qualified applicants). They will also work collaboratively within FMSP and with the Kentucky Department of Agriculture to provide assistance across the state as needed.
These part-time positions will comprise the Regional Technical Assistance Team, led by the Farmers’ Market Support Program Manager.
Position: Eastern Kentucky Farm to Table Coordinator
Location: Southeastern Kentucky
Base Salary: $34,000 with generous health, dental, vision and other benefits
Starting Date: September 1, 2017
This is a full-time position based in Eastern Kentucky.
Community Farm Alliance’s Eastern Kentucky Farm to Table Coordinator will participate as a key member of CFA’s staff team and is responsible for coordinating and implementing CFA’s Eastern Kentucky market development workplan that builds regional and community food systems, with a special focus on Farm to Institution. The EKY F2TC will work directly with farmers, with participating markets in CFA’s Farmer’s Market Support Program, public schools, other institutions, private enterprises, and organizations to build a local food supply chain network for institutional markets.
The position is also responsible for coordinating and integrating CFA’s Program of Work in Eastern Kentucky that specifically a) builds CFA’s EKY membership, b) identifies and develops EKY CFA Leadership, and c) helps to build regional collaboration.
Position: Appal-TREE Field Director, Harlan County
Location: Harlan County, Kentucky
Base Salary: $29,000 – $33,000 (varies with experience) with generous health, dental, vision and other benefits
Target Starting Date: September 1, 2017
This is a full-time position with a two-year commitment based in Harlan County, KY. An extension of the position is possible, up to three years total.
The Harlan County Field Director will participate as a key member of CFA’s staff team. The Field Director will serve as the link between the UK research team, community volunteers and CFA members and other CFA staff team members. He or she will have primary responsibility for administration and data collection related to the Harlan County projects, working closely with UK scientific researchers and the field directors in the other Appal-TREE communities of Letcher and Knott Counties. Specific responsibilities include recruiting participants for Appal-TREE cooking classes and working closely with Harlan schools on healthy beverage promotion.
The Field Director is also responsible for developing community relationships that help to build CFA through recruiting and developing CFA members and new CFA leaders. Developing relationships with allies, decision makers and the media are also required.
