Thank you for everyone who joined us at the 2023 Annual Meeting. This year we had an unforgettable occasion where we bid a fond farewell to our esteemed outgoing director, Martin Richards. We will take a moment to applaud Martin’s remarkable achievements over the past decade, and your invaluable insights into shaping the future priorities of CFA will be greatly appreciated.

CFA LEADERSHIP AWARDS

We also had our CFA Leadership Awards. Here are descriptions of each award and also who received them during our 2023 Annual Meeting:

EMERGING LEADER: recognizes emerging talent within our membership, these folks may be brand new to CFA or may have been CFA members in the past but over the last year have shown outstanding leadership and are really stepping up to represent Kentucky Farmers and CFA.

2023 Winners: Von Barnes, LeTicia Marshall

FAMILY FARM DEFENDER: This award is given to someone who continues to stand up and fight for farm families. They are aware of the issues folks on the ground are facing and seek to create innovative solutions and raise their voice. 

2023 Winners: Kenya Abraham, Joseph Monroe

DOROTHY ROBERTSON LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD: Dorothy Robertson was a key organizer for CFA in Bath County. She showed dedication to making change in Kentucky Agriculture to benefit farmers and their families. She organized a Tobacco Labor Hotline to connect farm workers with farmers, alongside serving as CFA’s chair for several years. She, additionally, was a huge voice for us in Frankfort and has left a legacy of unwavering dedication to CFA and beyond.

ALLY OF THE YEAR: Is given to an organization that demonstrates kinship and alignment with CFA’s mission and work.
